    Sandra Izsadore

    in Music

Sandra Izsadore is a singer, activist, author, and humanitarian born in Los Angeles, California. She is a graduate of Redlands University. She was featured in the Tony Award Broadway Musical FELA! with Michele Williams of Destiny’s Child, Saycon Sengbloh, and Paulette Ivory. She was featured in three documentaries: Beware of Mr. Baker, about drummer Ginger Baker, Finding FELA, and My Friend FELA. During the late 1960s, Sandra revitalized Africa’s revolutionary genius FELA KUTI. Upon meeting Sandra, Fela’s musical and political ideas changed, radically, and Afro-Beat was born. Sandra is the only vocalist featured on Fela’s music. The song Upside Down, which was a hit in 1977, is considered an Afro-Beat music classic. It is through her single-handed influence as a midwife for this genre that Sandra Izsadore is called The Queen Mother of Afro-Beat. Sandra Izsadore was immortalized in Fela’s biography Fela Fela This Bitch of a Life written by Carlos Moore in 1982. One chapter is dedicated to her. She lives with her husband in Los Angeles.

AVON PARK releases its first EP and we have it...and them

    in Music

Avon Park is an Indie rock band based out of Memphis, TN, with strong established roots in the blues, rock, alternative, and even pop music. The band was formed just over a year ago in the fall of 2018 when 3 friends from high school, who all now attend the University of Memphis, decided to come together and form an official band to write original music and play shows around the city of Memphis. Pulling inspiration from both older aged classic rock music such as The Eagles and the Grateful Dead as well as newer age bands with a more modern sound they developed a unique sound that got traction in Memphis before the pandemic closed venues.  Now just a year after formation the band has signed with student run campus record label BlueTOM and released their first single, “Vivid Dreams” and their first EP, Watson, in the spring of 2020l.Avon Park is an Indie rock band based out of Memphis, TN with strong established roots in the blues, rock, alternative, and even pop music. LOTL Radio Welcomes Kai Rose, Releases Her Latest single " TRUTH HURTS "

    in Music

Born Kel’Leiah McCarthy, Kai Rose knew early that she was born to make music and to spread the message of peace and harmony that her chosen moniker means. The middle child in a family that was actively pursuing rap careers, Kai followed her own path, penning poetry and producing beats for others. However, it was the trying times of her youth—moving from home to home and living in a hotel room—that helped build strong character and made her ready to branch out. At 15, she was scouted by an artist and repertoire representative/indie filmmaker who brought her to Charlotte, NC, to record beats for his films. Together, they also built a youth radio and television network called Next Kids Worldwide.
While some fans describe Kai’s music as pop or R&B, she calls it “chameleon funk” because “none of my songs sound like each other, even when they are in the same genre.” The artist, whose debut single was called “First Of All,” has been featured on Detroit’s FOX 2 News, Hot 107.5Underground Summer Jamz and My TV20, The Mother Love Show on LA Talk Radio, and more.
Currently, she’s partnered with Parallel Sound Studios, which has collaborated on her other popular releases like “Truth Hurts,” “Pinky Promise,” and “Playa 2.” Kai has also released music videos via partnerships with HBkwan, Wesley Snipes, and GM Entertainment. Next, she plans to work with Atlanta’s Dollah Jones, who has shot with fellow Detroit natives, The Clark Sisters.
