BABYI - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
in Music
Babyi Babyi is a singer, producer, and songwriter with aunique blend of pop, house, world, and Brazilian music. Born in Italy and raised in Brazil and the United States, Babyi has always had a passion for music and has been inspired by some of the greatest artists in the industry, such as Michael Jackson, Stromae, Morrisey, Eminem, and Lil Wayne. Growing up, Babyi's childhood and school years were not without challenges. She was raised by her grandma in Brazil, as her mother was always working to make a better life for her children. When she was six years old, her family moved to the United States, where she grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, with a single mother and older brother. As one of the few non-Middle Eastern people in the area, Babyi stood out and had to navigate the challenges of fitting in and finding her place in the community. Despite these challenges, Babyi was able to excel in school and even played basketball and tennis at Fordson High School. However, Babyi's teenage years were marked by rebellion and a lack of direction. She started experimenting with drugs and alcohol and got lost in the party scene. Despite these struggles, Babyi's passion for music never wavered and she continued to experiment with music production, using a midi keyboard and microphone that she had purchased at the age of 12. It was not until Babyi was 18 that she had a spiritual experience that changed her perspective on life. She realized that she needed to take responsibility for her actions and put in the hard work to achieve her goals. With this newfound sense of purpose, Babyi started planning to move to Los Angeles, where she had always dreamed of pursuing a career in music.
