Monday to Friday's "Stop Child Abuse Now" (SCAN) feature trauma informed HOSTs and Co-hosts and respected child abuse prevention, intervention and recovery advocates. They're all volunteers members of the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA), a 501(c)3. Founded in 2009, NAASCA.org was originally a grassroots effort. It was launched based on our founder Bill Murray's personal life experienced. Bill wrote, "Very few adults escape years of severe childhood sexual abuse, pre-pubescent X-rated photography, sex trafficking, and a two week long kidnapping." He continued. "But I have, and for some 35 years I've been in recovery from its devastating effects." After years of operating as a grassroots effort, NAASCA became a public charity in 2015 .. a 501(c)3 .. but we receive no grants or outside support, and belong to no other organization. There are no dues or fees. Our MISSION is entirely self-sustaining through the volunteer contributions of our members. The single purpose is to address issues related to childhood abuse and trauma including sexual assault, violent or physical abuse, emotional traumas and neglect from two specific perspectives: 1) educating the public, and 2) offering hope for healing and services to adult survivors. There are now nearly 3000 BlogTalkRadio shows, podcasts in the ever-growing library. Join us five-nights-a-week (Mon to Fri), at 8pm EST (so 7pm CEN, 6pm MTN, 5pm PAC) for solution-oriented discussions about the many issues of child abuse and trauma. The shows always include panel discussions and call-in participation.

Tonight's special guest is Jodie Tedder from Helena, Montana, a child abuse survivor and author of the book 'A Prisoner by No Crime of My Own'. She triumphs over a hellish childhood through years of intensive therapy. Jodie walks us through her pursuit of justice for her mother who she watched be killed by her fathet in a seedy hotel room in 1968. A true-born sociopath, he strolled undetected, using religion as his disguise. Her family coat of arms was incest. The murdered woman's spirit seemed to ignite a search for answers in Jodie's adulthood, but the family would do everything to keep the secrets they helped conceal. Decades were spent chasing down leads through a private investigator, coordinating with police and confronting perps. Hospital records ultimately point to the identity of the victim and a sister's loving pursuit to find her missing sibling helps spur the investigation. They may have solved this case. The problem -- the cops need a confession or a body. No help would be found in Jodie's family. Her faith sustained her as she moved toward the dragons from her youth. The terror of reliving the incessant sexual abuse stalled her attempts as her body recalled the misery. Others tried to block her efforts with rejection and judgment. Millions suffer for crimes they did not commit. Would this victim find justice? Would peace ever live in her world again? This story is a courageous dedication to all children who have lived through childhood violence and deviance. It's all murder. Unrelenting guilt to bring this woman justice would open doors to the past that could not be closed. Her life mattered and so did her death. Her murder left a destiny to locate the truth and get the chance to bring healing and justice to cold crimes lost to time.
