Tonight's special guest is Mort Moore from Kentucky, an abuse survivor who has been a long distance trucker for over 50 years, in every state except Hawaii. Mort appeared previously as our special guest when he told us his child abuse story (please see "Stop Child Abuse Now" Episode 161). We asked him to join us tonight to comment on an issue that's recently been highlighted in the news, that of the illegal activity that occurs at America's truck stops. Mort has seen nearly everything including a lot of violence. He's seen people being shot and an angry trucker trying to run someone over. He's also seen many trafficked and / or run away teenage girls being used as prostitutes. He has been approached himself on several occasions. Mr Moore has also seen significant police activity, including police posing as prostitutes who try to bring to justice truckers who take advantage of the young girls. Mort himself has been instrumental in helping a few young girls. He joins us tonight ready to talk about all he has seen on the road and all that he knows.
