Tonight's special guest is Maxine Browne from Delaware, abuse survivor, activist and author of "Years of Tears," which Maxine describes as "One family's journey through domestic violence. This is a story of not only the years of abuse, but of the recovery and hope that this family now so courageously shares." Maxine's web site (www.dv-recovery.com) explains: "Most of us think of physical assault when the issue of domestic violence is mentioned. However, many women are brutalized by tactics of power and control that cripple them mentally and emotionally without a single trip to the hospital. This is one such story. Maxine and her children lived with a man who controlled every aspect of their lives. The end result of ten grueling years of abuse was three completely destroyed lives. This is a story of not only the years of abuse, but of the recovery and hope that this family now so courageously shares." Maxine Browne has dedicated her life to increasing understanding of domestic violence and how to enjoy healthier relationships. In her workshops she tells stories of abuse and recovery that will inspire you to press past your present circumstances to create the life you want for your family.
