Tonight's special guest is Haseena Patel from South Africa, a returning NAASCA family member who's a girls’ empowerment coach, activist, speaker and author. She'll be appearing to talk about the "Bubbles Beyond Borders" campaign. This International event is planned for August 16th, and is being done to support the rights and dreams of girls and women worldwide. It was inspired by the recent horrific abduction of Nigerian girls. At least 9 countries are planning to be involved at present: South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Trinidad, Bahrain, Australia, the UK, Canada and the USA. (www.facebook.com/bubblesbeyondborders). Ms Patel's own life journey led to her writing her first book, "I Choose Victory: Find light in the darkness of a life-changing crisis." Girls’ empowerment, along with gender equality, has always been something that Haseena felt strongly about, and in 2010, together with her sister, Shameema, she founded Leave No Girl Behind International. Their organization inspires girls to live up to their own potential and raises awareness about the necessity of empowering girls, through international projects and programs. Haseena’s latest book, which she co-authored with Shameema, is titled "Leave No Girl Behind: How to help girls become the change in our world." As Haseena writes, "We need to be the light for all those girls out there who need hope." She goes on, "An empowered girl means an empowered nation which means an empowered generation. Let us Leave No Girl Behind!"
