Tonight's special guest is Michael Broussard from Philadelphia, a child abuse survivor with a unique way to be of service and carry the message. NAASCA has committed to presenting his unique one-man show, "Ask a Sex Abuse Survivor," to a wider and ever-expanding audience through our web site and on our talk shows. During the play, which was first performed at the end of June, 2014, Michael told the story of a childhood lost to abuse — and rediscovered decades later. Throughout the performance, audience members were encouraged to share their own experiences, ask questions and offer up comments. The play provides a unique opportunity for an open, interactive dialogue on the effects and causes of abuse and, as such, NAASCA will be devoted to helping the play be presented elsewhere. We'll sponsor these events and list them on the NAASCA web site when they are scheduled, etc, too, as an ongoing project / service. Michael be in charge of this .. as a NAASCA family member and volunteer. He'll work directly with us, and serve as the contact person for "Ask a Sex Abuse Survivor" too. There's a big need to help folks who were child abuse and trauma victims come out of the closet of the secrets they've sometimes kept for decades, and this play may provide a unique opportunity to hear about the issues of abuse, and a safe haven for discovery that one is not alone.
