Tonight's special guest is Dr. Sue Cornbluth from Philadelphia, a nationally recognized expert in parenting, divorce and childhood trauma. Also known as “Dr. Sue,” she's not afraid to express her direct opinions about the most controversial topics, and is often referred to as the "Power House" for child advocacy. President of Parenting Beyond Trauma, Dr. Sue earned her reputation as a leading expert in child abuse and victims' rights during the Jerry Sandusky trial. Her psychological commentary on the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown Connecticut was broadcasted nationally. She has appeared on numerous television outlets around the country discussing victims' rights. Dr. Sue recently completed her second book, "Building Self-Esteem in Children and Teens who are Fostered or Adopted," released in August 2014. Dr. Sue is also the author of the training manual “The Ambiguous Foster Child: Attachment, Separation, Loss & Loyalty.” Dr. Sue began her career in the field of foster care. It was there that she learned how to connect with abused children through building a safe, trusting relationship with each child she counseled. This later propelled Dr. Sue to become involved in establishing her own business "Parenting Beyond Trauma, LLC" where she provides expert consultations for parents struggling to help themselves and their children move beyond traumatic events. She is also an Adjunct Psychology Professor at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
