Tonight's special guest is Charlene Niemi from Newbury Park, CA, a Nursing PhD candidate at Azusa Pacific University in California. She's conducing a research study where she hopes to discover predictors that will facilitate the psychological well-being of adult male survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic priests. Specifically, she'll examine, as possible mediators, such factors as meaning in life, personal resilience and forgiveness. John from the Morris Center suggested NAASCA to Charlene as an organization that might be able to help her in her work. We were happy to assist. When one answers the survey they read, "The study for which you are being asked to participate is designed to understand the role meaning in life, personal resilience, and forgiveness have in the psychological well-being of adult male survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic priests. Your participation will help improve the knowledge that these factors have in psychological well-being. With that goal in mind I need your help." We wish Charlene every success!
