Tonight's special guest is Juneann Young from Wildwood, Florida, who's joining us for the first time. Juneann is a survivor of serious child abuse both in her own family and later in foster care, and has been faced with seemingly overwhelming odds to emerge now as the activist she's become. "I am stronger then the ones who had to rape, beat, spit, kick, call me horrible names, judge me, talk behind my back, not believing in me," Juneann writes on her Facebook page, My True Story. "It has made me loving, caring, and I have a love in me for others who need and always do without." She notes that "God has molded my heart to keep on turning the other cheek." She recently was happily reunited with the case worker who was so helpful to her during the foster care period of her life. Juneann's not just sitting on her laurels, waiting for recovery to descend upon her, she's now fully engaged in her recovery, rising above the severe depression and OCD that're a result of her childhood trauma. She's recently compiled her life long journals into a book (perhaps to be published in the future), runs her own Blue Ribbon campaign, and is attending counseling in her area. Her husband and three children are supporting her healing journey now, and a new grandchild has given her a new sense of purpose. Juneann plans on "Spending the rest of my life, saving children from child abuse." We welcome her to the NAASCA family.
