Tonight's special guest is Ira Warren from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, an adult survivor of child molestation and sexual abuse as well as other forms of physical and mental abuse. "I had a child by my dad," she says. "I've been sharing my story for 29 years." She's quite open with her story. In a YouTube video (TRIGGER WARNING), Ira shares her journey to wholeness after being sexually assaulted by her father, resulting in the birth of her oldest son. She explains how she was raped and beaten by a boyfriend, resulting in the death of her unborn daughter, being rejected by many who should have loved her. In it, Ira and her husband Divine Warren share their story of how they are using these experiences to help many others. Being a survivor of abuse herself, she feels that it's her duty to use her voice to help break the epidemic of rape, molestation as well as other forms of abuse. She now works with teenage girls ages 13-18. "My purpose is to educate and share how I stay on my path of healing," she explains. Ira's a mother, mentor, wife, poet, motivational speaker, actress and soon to be author. She is also an Ordained Minister with a BA in Religious Studies. Ira says, "If there is anyone interested in Philadelphia or the surrounding area who would like me to come out to speak at a school, event, etc. contact me here." You can also visit her Facebook page, Molestation Epidemic. NAASCA knows that most child sexual abuse happens in the home, and the next largest group of predators are caregivers. We're delighted to have Ira on the show, and welcome her to the NAASCA family.
