Tonight's special guest is Shirley T Harris from New York City, who's an author and speaker, a certified transformational coach, and an alcohol and substance abuse specialist. She is also currently studying to become a licensed practitioner with the Centers for Spiritual Living. Shirley's recently released book entitled Conversations With The Little Girl Within details her story of overcoming unresolved trauma from childhood abuse. For years she struggled with self-obstructive beliefs and childhood memories that haunted her. Shirley recognized that just as she once felt many women, "feel hurt and unloved, they feel rejected and are looking for a way to pick themselves up and move in the direction of their dreams." Her book is a guideline to help survivors of childhood abuse accomplish this by offering one pathway to recovery. Shirley is founder and CEO of an award-winning nonprofit organization that collaborates with other nonprofits and churches to offer workshops and programs for youth and families. She's passionate about helping women manage toxic relationships, recognize their spiritual worth, set boundaries, address low self-esteem, heal from childhood issues, redefine roles in relationships, and personal empowerment. Shirley explains, "My work is about helping women to rewrite the script for their life, ultimately helping them to change self-limiting beliefs and resolve painful childhood memories by creating beliefs that support healthy and loving relationships," as she best sums it up, "how can I support you on your journey of living an affluent life in peace and in joy?"
