Q & A call-in discussion with a survivor-professional, using an OPEN MIKE forum. We'll feature a survivor-professional co-host who'll field topics brought to the episode by you, the listener. ~~ Tonight the special co-host will be Heath Phillips, a Military Sexual Trauma Survivor. He explains "At age 17, while serving in the United States Navy, I was raped, sodomized, beaten, humiliated and had a piece of my soul stolen from this." Like many of us he turned to drugs and alcohol and even attempted suicide. Sober since 2009, Heath wants to share his life experiences, his spiral out of control to being back in control with us. He says. "I want to help you take that first step of not holding it in by sharing my first steps." He goes on, "I am no longer ashamed, or guilt ridden, and I have learned to not only forgive myself, but to forgive my rapists." ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants.
