In this inspiring episode, we introduce Tamika S. Lowe, a visionary on a mission to transform the landscape for tradeswomen aspiring to become general contractors. Tamika's journey began in 2022, when she recognized the hurdles tradeswomen faced in the industry and stepped forward as a mentor, guiding them through the complex maze toward becoming general contractors. Her dedication to empowering women in construction led her to teach construction classes at a technical high school in her hometown of Newark, NJ. The creation of She Contractor marks a pivotal moment in Tamika's quest to forge a supportive network for tradeswomen. This platform, institute, and community aims to be a beacon for mentors and tradeswomen alike, offering resources, encouragement, and opportunities to grow in their fields and ascend to general contractor roles and beyond.
