Encouraging Widows
in Women
Facebook.com/TheNextChapter or Email: TNCwidows@gmail.com
The Next Chapter (TNC) Widows' Ministry, a faith-based support group encourages widows and helps them heal in the years after the loss of their husband. Nearly 700k women lose their husband each year. What a traumatic and even scary feeling a new widow can experience! So many questions. Premarital counseling never prepared you for the lonely nights, heartaches, and the many decisions. It doesn’t matter whether the marriage was long or short, the loss was from a long illness or an unexpected accident, or how much money is or is not in the bank. What matters is that the person you married, shared secrets with, made love with, laughed with, been angry with, and a host of other scenarios is not here. TNC gives widows a unique connection with others who understand why his clothes are still in the closet, his name is still on the bank account, and grocery shopping is so difficult. Widows are loved! God has a special plan to care for them. I Timothy 5:3 says, “Honor widows that are widows indeed.”
A Widow’s Touch, (available on Amazon.com) a collection of powerful true stories from 20+ widows can be a source of comfort. It allows the readers to find themselves in a character, as the widow, the family member, friend or someone mentioned. Readers can journey with the writers as they share loneliness, frustration, confusion, and victorious moments. A journey of faith dries the tears and turns grief to joy. TNC enjoys annual getaways, serves the community, celebrates special occasions, and produces a weekly talk show. Mary Hollis and Sheila Coley, co-founders, are available tor speaking engagements, workshops, and book signings.

Community Kids Watch Program - Part 1
in Women
Advocates United for Humanity welcomes their new #communitykidswatch program that promotes see something, say something -- Part 1!
AU4H ‘Community Kids Watch’ program is a simple act of kindness that anyone can take part in. The ‘Community Kids Watch’ program helps children in the community feel safe and protected knowing their families, friends, and community are attentively watching over them. Each person in their neighborhood, apartment complex, street, or community vows to take a stand to help stop child abuse by “watching, listening and reporting” any suspected abuse towards a child. Many people fear reporting suspected child abuse thinking if they are wrong they will be charged for filing a false report. There is no wrong in doing what you believe is right to protect a child. Making a report in good faith will not get you in any trouble. By reporting the suspected abuse you may save a child's life. Please don’t let another child die by not making the call if you suspect abuse.
WHO CAN BE INVOLVED?
Any community resident can be part of the Community Kids Watch Program and help keep an eye out for neighborhood children.
As a Community Kids Watch Ambassador:
1. You vow to protect children, All children.
2. If you see, hear or suspect a child is being abused or neglected it is your moral responsibility to report it. Reports can be filed anonymously with your state’s Child Abuse Hotline. If you are unsure of the process or need that information please contact AU4H at: au4h@yahoo.com or message us via Facebook message system with a number you may be reached at and we can help guide you through the process.
3. If you file a report, you will be updated as allowed by law.
