Sorry, but I just had to cover this topic, in light of perhaps the most sweeping Executive Action with regards to gun control, in the history of the Republic.

Yesterday, after the recommendations set forth by Vice President Biden, President Obama outlined 23 directives, which he considers to be commonsensical, in that not only will they allow a more efficient prevention of irresponsible and destructive gun use by citizens, but maintain the integrity of the 2 Amendment (one thing that comes out of this debate, if we never had any familiarity about the U.S. Constitution, we KNOW what the 2 Amendment says).

So, in front a supportive audience, including children who were present during the Sandy Hook massacre, Obama outlined 23 standards that he hopes Congress will act upon, swiftly. Yet, it seems that the response overall, has been lukewarm, even amongst members of his own party.

The NRA, for its part, has come under fire for airing PSA, which some have considered to be an attack on the First Daughters.

On Critical Discourse, we will examine the 23 planks of that Obama has put forth, and examine their efficacy and rationale.
