C.D. - In Defense of "Devil's Food Cake"

It was bad enough when Al Jolson, Freeman Godson and Charles Correll, and D.W. Griffith were part of the blackface" era. Even today, as NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind learned, the wounds are still deep-rooted.

Why is it that when Sam L. Jackson does the same, in his “Uncle Tom” portrayal in the movie Django Unchained, there's hardly a whimper? Reportedly, Jackson wanted this character to be as dark and possible, as not to cast aspersions on lighter-skinned black people.

Imagine, the gall of this 21 century Negro!

The “action of Jackson” speaks volumes about the insecurities that still exist amongst black people.YES, we suffer from our own "colorism".

SCOTUS is hearing a case which purports to set a tone for the voting rights for black people. Many claim it will repudiate the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which bolstered the 15 Amendment.

The big issue seems to be Section 5, which requires that any changes in southern states’ voting laws, be approved by the DOJ.

Certainly, Antonin Scalia’s remarks that Section 5 is a “Perpetuation of Racial Entitlement”, don't seem to help matters any.

Bob Woodward of the Washington Post, has gotten himself into a little bit of hot water.  What was his “crime”, you might ask? Having the nerve, through a liberal news-organ, challenge “His Highness”, Barack Obama, over the Sequestering issue.

There are even rumors that the White House issued a threat against Woodward, which of course, they deny. But what was meant by, “I do truly believe you should rethink your comment about saying that POTUS asking for revenues is moving the goal post. I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim.” ????
