C.D. - Rape in India & Afghanistan - Barbarism of the Ages

I would give so much, not to have felt the need to do this show.

On past shows, in light of the well-publicized rapes of women in India, I’d advised the Critical Discourse audience that I would be covering this very sensitive subject.

This was back in January, and to be honest, I figured that I might be able to avoid this wrenching and arduous task. .

Then, something happened, that just shook me to my very core. A crime, a sin, so unspeakable, that affected females and males, demand justice; remedy and redress, reciprocity and righteous retaliation.

Last week in New Delhi, a 5 year-old girl died, from a heart attack, after she was raped by a 35-year old man, who is now in custody, charged with sexual assault; I don’t know if Indian jurisprudence would deem, that a murder charge could be applied, as well.

In the nation of Afghanistan, there is a cultural more’, this time with boys, that will also shock and stun you, making you wonder, “What kind of world are we living in”? What goes on in the minds of these and any males, who would do commit such a heinous act?  What kind of “culture” kindles these perversions?

On Critical Discourse, we will discuss these issues, and try to make some “sense” of it all.
