We are having a heat wave in So Cal right now and I know this is NOT the only place; therefore, I want to create awareness on how to keep yourselves safe with body, mind and finances. These three simply belong together, as when one is out of sort the others won't be balanced either. Why am I choosing this topic of Hot Weather? Easy, I have been observant and seen, heard, smelled more things that were not necessary in the last few weeks that I know it needs to be adressed.
Signs: more accidents, fires, heart attacks, strokes, heat rashes, etc.
How can we prevent these things from happening to us? 11 Tips for Surviving A Heat Wave Without Air-Conditioning:
1. Use box fans & ceiling fans to promote air circulation throught your home.
2. Take advantage of the cooling power of water.
3. Head downstairs.
4. Eliminate extra sources of heat.
5. Remember to hydrate with cool or room temp water, NOT ICE
6. Avoid alcoholic beverages and caffeine
7. Homemade "air conditioning" system
8. Visit public bildings with A/C
9. Don't eat lg, protein-rich meals
10. Recognize symptoms of heat-related illnesses
11. Incl your pets in the safety measures.
