Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now. Today in one week is Thanksgiving. What does that mean to you? How do you celebrate it? Why do you celebrate it? Is it because of it's History, Food, Getting Together, playing games, telling stories, etc.? My name is Denise Thomson and I've been passionate about health full circle for my entire life, started working in the medical field 58 years ago.

History: Pilgrims, celebrating harvest

Food:  44 days, 132 meals, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years, Company event, Family Gathering, Is it worth overeating or stuffing yourself for 5 - 8 meals in 44 days or is it wiser to plan for the future, yet act in the now?

How can you enjoy the meals with others without feeling guilty? What are some of the best suggestions: Eat protein and carbs at home before going out to Restaurant or family, always have a glass of water in your dominant hand, sip water regularly, to satisfy and quench the thirst, walk around the tables filled with food and decide what you really want to try, what's healthy for you, and what does not serve you. End of day, clean up, dish out left overs for people to take home, share, help with the dishes, etc. not fried,

Games:  draw what's on the card, guess,

Gatherings: choose carefully who you want to be around with and why. Keep physical distancing, Surround yourself with positive people, potluck style,

Poems:  read from screen

Safety: Always be prepared. Have flashlights handy, disinfectant, water, soap, papertowels, masks, cover face,

Prepare for a fun day!

In 44 days is January 1, 2022, New Year, New Year, Reset health goals.

Gift: health goal reset strategy session, e-newsletter
