Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now. As I mentioned last week, more and more people are stressed these days for several reasons: Covid-19, Delta Variant, Omicron, working from home, lost their job, unemployment ran out, home schooling the children, everyone at home in quarantine, feeling isolated, lack of social interactions IRL, etc. My name is Denise Thomson and I am a best selling author with a stress reduction book, have been involved or exposed to the medical field for 58 years, and am passionate about guiding you to your optimal health in all 3 aspects, healthy mind, healthy body, healthy finances.

The Power of Managing Your Stress:

My personal experience:

Diagnosed as pre-diabetic 6 - 7 years ago, I was instructed to prick my finger daily in the morning while NPO to see where my blood sugar was/is. Yes, I am still doing it. I realized that it's not just what we eat that affects our blood sugar, but how we sleep, what we think, how much we stress over things we have or do not have control over, etc. It's a guideline for me to see how I choose to structure my day to be at my best.

My b-i-l is diabetic, is fighting to get on medication, to make the changes needed to lower his A1C, etc. He does not want to prick his finger, etc.

Just thinking about it stresses him out. He sees the negative rather than the positive.

Positive Mindset creates health, Negative mindset causes illness.
