Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now. Todays subject is GRATITUDE. Why? It's so appropriate as we are seeing more behavior of entitlement, not caring about others, lack of respect, etc.

Definition of gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

ex.: "She expressed her gratitude to the committee for their support".

My name is Denise Thomson and I have so much to be grateful for. Exercising this trait of being grateful helps me daily, emotionally and physically. Writing down a few thoughts daily about things we are grateful for, helps us aligne our thoughts to being more positive. You probably remember my saying: A positive mind creates health; a negative mind causes illness. So true!

Do you have a gratitude journal? How often do you write in it? When do you write? AM or PM or both? How do you feel before and after you have written your thoughts down in your journal? How does it affect YOU emotionally, physically and even financially?

Did you know that a few minutes in the morning being grateful, prepares you for a wonderful day and a few minutes in the evening allows you to relax more easily and sleep much better and deeper?

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night thinking about something that makes your brain work? The best way to relax again is to write it down. I have a notepad and a pen on my night table, so I can let go of my thoughts, be grateful I could write them down, go back to sleep and deal with whatever it was that awakened me during the day time. Sometimes it gets resolved just sleeping over it.

Reading a few gratitude quotes: (google GRATITUDE, you'll find many ways to express it)
