Tonight's special guest is Billy Joe Cain from Texas, co-founder of PBJ Learning and an expert in human trafficking prevention. Human trafficking is 'modern day slavery,' which is divided into Labor Trafficking and Sex Trafficking. It generally involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. The exception is if a child is under 18 years of age and trading sex for any value, that is automatically human trafficking. Informative human trafficking training lessons explain how human trafficking generates billions of dollars of profit per year, and is second only to drug trafficking as the most profitable form of transnational crime, worldwide. Billy Joe has spent 30 years in the interactive space, creating award-winning games, simulations, educational programs, and “gamified” training products. He delivered a flight simulator for the United States Air Force, and created and maintained online educational programs to improve critical thinking, math, and vocabulary skills. Now, his mission is to prevent human trafficking. Billy Joe has been building educational products to fight trafficking since 2017, because his children were being groomed by a sex predator, whom he had known as a friend for years. For his nonprofit, Radical Empathy Education Foundation, he developed an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience which, in 15 minutes, demonstrates how anyone could be psychologically manipulated into becoming a victim of human trafficking. Billy Joe co-founded PBJ Learning with his partner, David Deeds, to provide online certificate-level training around the world.
