Monday to Friday's "Stop Child Abuse Now" (SCAN) feature trauma informed HOSTs and Co-hosts and respected child abuse prevention, intervention and recovery advocates. They're all volunteers members of the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA), a 501(c)3. Founded in 2009, NAASCA.org was originally a grassroots effort. It was launched based on our founder Bill Murray's personal life experienced. Bill wrote, "Very few adults escape years of severe childhood sexual abuse, pre-pubescent X-rated photography, sex trafficking, and a two week long kidnapping." He continued. "But I have, and for some 35 years I've been in recovery from its devastating effects." After years of operating as a grassroots effort, NAASCA became a public charity in 2015 .. a 501(c)3 .. but we receive no grants or outside support, and belong to no other organization. There are no dues or fees. Our MISSION is entirely self-sustaining through the volunteer contributions of our members. The single purpose is to address issues related to childhood abuse and trauma including sexual assault, violent or physical abuse, emotional traumas and neglect from two specific perspectives: 1) educating the public, and 2) offering hope for healing and services to adult survivors. There are now nearly 3000 BlogTalkRadio shows, podcasts in the ever-growing library. Join us five-nights-a-week (Mon to Fri), at 8pm EST (so 7pm CEN, 6pm MTN, 5pm PAC) for solution-oriented discussions about the many issues of child abuse and trauma. The shows always include panel discussions and call-in participation.

Tonight's special guest is Jennifer Michele from Walker, Louisiana, a returning NAASCA family member whose 'New Daddy' came into the picture when her mother married her new husband when Jennifer was around 7 years old. "Life was never the same again," she says. "The grooming started before they married and finding every reason to hold me, sitting on his lap while touching, caressing and slipping hands in the wrong places." She goes on, "It quickly progressed to long soapy showers to make sure I was clean in the middle of the day then the fondling became more aggressive and intrusive. As well as teaching me how to make daddy feel better. He later raped me and let others do the same." Jennifer explains, "My parents weren't married for long after I was born. At months old my mom joined the service and she left me in my father's care while no one knew she'd joined the service or even that she left for boot camp. During her time away he left me alone in an apartment without supervision for over 24 hours at least. A call to my grandparents about a crying baby next door sent them to my rescue. They then took me into their care for years. My parents divorced and later my birth father left me at the doorstep for the last time never coming back since he remarried and started a new family when I was about 5 years old." She concludes, "After letting the damages of my silence sink in I started Lil Jens Voice FB page in 2017 and then I started a new blog, LilJensVoice.org. Those two outlets are geared for those who may be still in their own self destruction of silence and to share my own journey as I'm going through it myself."
