Tonight's secial guest is special co-host will be Jo Rankin from Sarasota, Florida, a date rape survivor, a psychologist and an ordained Christian minister. Tonight she'll be telling her story for the first time. Jo says, "I studied psychology and became ordained in order to be able to help people." Suggesting she'd like to volunteer with NAASCA, Jo says she is hoping that, ".. her participation would be something that is helpful to your organization and to the victims of abuse who you help. I am not altogether unfamiliar with their plight, so my compassion comes more from an empathetic standpoint. My sympathy goes out to you in your quest to make lemonade out of lemons. I have had to do this areas of my life as well." Jo is destined to be a once a month co-host for our call in discussion shows, a survivor-professional or hyphenate who'll field topics including some brought to the episode by you, the listener. Those who call in will form a discussion panel. ~~ Jo will normally appear each month on the second Thursday of the month. ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, survivors and professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants. Their trauma-informed perspectives will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage on tonight's show. ~~ Please visit the NAASCA.org web site.
