Tonight's special guest is TeResa from Memphis, Tennessee. She was abandoned by her mother at 1 year old. At age 14, she met her mom for the first time. TeResa was introduced to alcohol and drugs by her. She experienced child sexual abuse at the hands of her brother and his friends multiple times. One day she decided to tell her mom about the abuse caused by her brother but her mom didn't believe her, and kicked her out of the house. She is also a suicide survivor. TeResa is ready to continue walking in her healing, and is sharing her story tonight to help save others from victimization and shame. She gets called 'crazy' for telling her story and her family's secret, but she wants to break the stigma associated with survivors of abuse, incest abuse and mental illness from trauma. ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants. Their trauma-informed perspectives as survivor-professionals will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage on tonight's show. ~~ Please visit the NAASCA.org web site.
