Tonight's special guest is Darlene J Clark from Pulaski, Tennessee, a NAASCA family member. She's a survivor of severe child abuse and author of 'Born In A Living Hell,' about her tortuous childhood, and has recently written a second book, 'Shattered Innocence'. But Darlene isn't here tonight to tell her story, which she's told on our show many times (see SCAN 2906, 4/25/22). She's here tonight to lead a discussion on two topics, events we want to publicize are at the end of Oct: 1) a child trafficking marathon and 2) an event that highlights the trauma experienced by children who grow up in Domestic Violence homes. The first event, by TrafficingRescue.org, was created by a coalition of charities rescuing young people from the slavery they're living in. They will be building cyber units that track these criminals, work with police to capture them and release the victims of abuse. They'll also be building housing projects for the survivors. The second event, also on Oct 29th, is a free event held in Minnesota, and will also be on ZOOM, so anyone can attend. The theme is 'Domestic Violence Affects Kids Too' will be held 1pm to 4pm in Minneapolis, and will feature a number of topics; Speakers, an Open Mic, a Candlelight Vigil, resource Tables and a DV Clothesline Project. Please email Victoria Kelly for more info.
