Tonight's special guest is Teresa Lhotka from Minnetonka, Minnesota, the Executive Director/CEO at Missing Children Minnesota since 2014, and a volunteer since 2010. Teresa is also a Certified Victim Advocate and member of the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA). The mission of Missing Children Minnesota is to help in locating missing children; to provide advocacy and support services to families of missing children and to provide information and prevention education to the public regarding missing children and runaways. Since 1983 Missing Children Minnesota has helped more than 3500 families and children throughout the Midwest by providing 24-hour advocacy and support services, as well as helping families at risk for abduction create individualized prevention plans. In addition to search assistance, we also provide four critically acclaimed educational programs to children and adults throughout Minnesota and all across the country. Every year, MCM presents abduction prevention and personal safety programs to schools, daycare centers, early childhood and family education groups, churches and children's vacation camps. The hope is that by providing children with the information they need to be safer this year, there will be fewer missing children next year. Teresa is the mother of two grown children, and wife of 35 years to her husband, Rocky. She volunteers with the Eden Prairie Community Emergency Response Team, and has served on its Advisory Council.
