Tonight's special guest is AmyAnna Soto from Modesto, California, a survivor of severe child abuse, rape and stalking who'll concentrate on telling her own story. As a public speaker she is passionate about mental wellness and overcoming trauma. "My trauma includes childhood sexual abuse, physical and mental abuse, rape and long-term stalking. Growing up the adults in my life were self-labeled sadists. My world was a place of nightmares and terror, which turned darker when an abuser began to stalk and harass me." She spent the last 20 years reinventing herself, using various healing methods including therapy, art, journaling, writing, support groups both online and in-person, dreamwork, art therapy, and more. AmyAnna also speaks out as a published poet, artist and aspiring author. She has a background in nursing and mental wellness advocacy. AmyAnna is currently a trauma informed Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery Practitioner, and served as the leader of a poetry group and arts and crafts group for survivors. You can find more information about her at AmyAnnaSoto.com. She explains, "I was proactive in my healing reading books and learning all I could. This allowed me to take control of my healing and my life. As a former Certified Nursing Assistant, and sexual assault advocate, I have cared for many people in their most dire moments. All my experiences have led me to discover my inner truth and true passion. I love to help ease the stress and chaos of the aftermath of trauma."
