Tonight's special guest is Dr. Pamela Pine, PhD, MPH, founder and CEO of Stop the Silence: Stop Child Sexual Abuse, a non-profit, charitable 501(c)3 organization, with a Mission to expose and stop child sexual abuse and help survivors heal worldwide. Pamela is a longstanding NAASCA family member who has just published a wonderful new book, 'Stop the Silence – Thriving After Child Sexual Abuse', now available on Amazon and and published by Brave Healer Productions. In it, 23 survivors and professionals make contributions. Pamela says " Thanks to the efforts of experts, healers, and survivors and their supporters around the globe, we're preventing CSA (child sexual abuse) and promoting healing of victims and survivors, celebrating the lives of those healed, and underscoring CSA as social justice and civil rights issues." She goes on, "This brave collaboration brings together real stories and powerful tools from practitioners and survivors who have been on the front lines of the fight for justice and healing." NAASCA knows well how long and hard fought this effort has been. Pamela continues. "Together, we're normalizing the conversations around CSA; bringing awareness, training, and education to communities; changing norms; and empowering victims, survivors, and their families and other supporters." The goals of her non profit are: 1) to promote healing of victims and survivors; and 2) to celebrate the lives of those healed. Through their work, "Stop The Silence" aims to address the relationships between CSA and the broader issues of overall family and community violence, and violence within and between communities.
