Short stints in academic life ultimately led to Dr. Segar’s current role exploring Biological Control products as West Research Scientist for PBI-Gordon.

Off to the Races Radio, powered by The Racing Biz returned August 17 at 10:00 a.m. The radio show, which is presented by the Virginia Equine Alliance, returns for its 26th season.
The program combines tips and advice on betting horse racing, news from the sport, and interviews and conversations with major racing newsmakers. For the duration of the Colonial Downs meet, the show will be two hours each week.
On August 17 hosts Nick Hahn and Frank Vespe were joined by a bevy of guests. Those include owner and former baseball star Jayson Werth, Dave Zenner of Colonial Downs, steeplechase expert Sean Clancy, Charles Town track announcer Paul Espinosa, Maryland racing analyst Kali Francois, Darrell Wood, former jockey Ryan Fogelsonger, and much more.
The program focuses on Thoroughbred racing and breeding in Virginia, around the Mid-Atlantic, and across the country and will air each Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern on ESPN Richmond (106.1 FM) and via livestreaming. The show airs simultaneously on ESPN Harrisonburg (106.9 FM and 1360 AM). And during the summer race meet at Colonial Downs, the program will expand to two hours.
The show switches to a two-hour format July 6 and will run through November 2.
