Sex traffickers use violence, threats, lies, debt bondage, and other forms of coercion to force women, men and children to engage in commercial sex against their will. Under federal law, any minor under the age of 18 years induced into commercial sex is a victim of sex trafficking—regardless of whether or not the trafficker used force, fraud, or coercion.Sex traffickers may lure their victims with the false promise of a high-paying job. Others promise a romantic relationship, where they first establish an initial period of false love and feigned affection.

    Welcome everyone to the Voice of Change.  I'm Sharon Ann Wikoff and delighted to be with you for this program.  What do you think is the ONE thing that you can easily do on a regular basis with a child, that can make a huge difference in the way he or she is in the world?  Some might say any of the following:  READING! PRAYING! SINGING!  TALKING!  TRIPS!  I could write SO much on this topic, however, this time around, I'm going to let you ponder the topic.  Tomorrow we'll discuss!  Have fun reflecting on this very important topic!  I've actually seen this ONE ACTIVITY, change the behavior of a child in less than 10 minutes numerous times!  These children have been my own and others in school or day camp settings.  This one activity can change their attitude, stop their stealing,  stop their bullying, shift their shyness and more.  Hope you'll tune in tomorrow for this conversation.
