Jonathan Brenner is an Atlanta-based singer-songwriter who defies easy classification. Described as “somewhere between New York and Nashville,” his music is a unique amalgam of genres, including pop, country, folk, Americana, and jazz. A wildly clever and often epic songwriter with romantic/heartbreaking storytelling, witty social commentary and the weaving of pointed musical fables at the core of his creativity, the Atlanta based musical enigma – currently riding a fresh wave of intoxicating eclecticism via his second album Instagram Success - is so wondrously all over the map that even his promoters have a hard time defining his artistry. Is he pop? His infectious, 70s-esque, jangly brassy, vocal harmony filled romp “Silly Little Habit” screams yep! Is he country? His country accent and plucky steel guitars on “Little Lost Lamb in Dixieland” seem to confirm this, but his hilarious jibes about Southern living make him more kin to the musical comedy aesthetic of chief influence Tom Lehrer. (So maybe that’s two genres in one?) Is Brenner folk/Americana? Yeah, and with a little bluesy keyboard and rock guitar twinge on the lyrical, easy to sing along with “Riding That Money Train” (which has some edgy social commentary and the acoustic driven irony laden “Jesus Loves the Poor,” which also has blues flavors and a snazzy jazzy trumpet solo. - Jonathan Widran, THE JW VIBE

Milling About with John Buffalo Mailer
John Buffalo Mailer joins host Robin Milling to discuss How To Come Alive With Norman Mailer (A Cautionary Tale). Directed by Jeff Zimbalist, it's a warts-and-all documentary about his father, where he and most of his nine siblings from Mailer's six marriages, and other relatives look back on their relationship with Mailer, who was infamous and controversial to the public but represented something very different to them.
Buffalo, an executive producer on the project, openly tells Robin thoughts and feelings only he could have experienced as the youngest son and only child of Mailer and Norris Church Mailer. He reflects on those moments and hopes the film, which explores Mailer’s ideas about love, anger, fear, and courage will inspire younger generations to tackle their own challenges and perhaps look at society a little differently.

Eric Mofford has been involved in over 150 film, television and on-line productions and numerous commercials and music videos, 30 of those projects as an Assistant Director and/or Production Manager, including the EMMY award-winning 24, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Kalifornia and Daughters of the Dust. He co-produced the 13-part documentary series for PBS, Senior Year in 2001. His dramatic blues film, Travelin Trains, aired nationally on A&E and won a dozen national and international film festival awards including the CINE Golden Eagle. Now producing and directing, recent credits include the sports Doc series for NBCSports.com, Puckland; the original comedy web series, Love and Loathing: Adventures in Divorce Land; the PBS documentary, 9/11: Inside the Pentagon; the award winning feature documentary, Sunshine Superman; the EMMY nominated documentary, Houston We Have a Problem and the live action portions for the EA video game, Need for Speed: Undercover, with Maggie Q. Award Winning Author Cambria Williams Brings Out A Full Moon
This week, Burke talks with Award-Winning Author Cambria Williams about her Readers Favorite Award-winning book, The Befallen. Williams is most well known for her incredible fantasy fiction and poetry. She comes on to discuss the writing process, a bit about the book, and how she teaches others to write.
Her newest book, The Befallen, is her debut into the dark fantasy novel world. It follows Sloane, who experiences a terrible fate in her village, where the Befallen killed and destroyed the town. Although shelters from the outside world, her faith in the goddess of the moon, she ventures out and discovers that the Befallen aren't the only issues waiting for her. The story is filled with action, adventure, discovery, and excitement on each page.
Cambria Williams has a passion for writing, so much so that she even teaches others how to write fantasy and more. Her insight is incredible, and she's filled with so much imagination and enjoys the thrill of her passion, writing.
