You know the last voice I featured last week, during my tribute to Jerry Darnell, was Ryan Hicks, when he told us about how much time he spent during the past few years, his early years in franchising, being guided and mentored by Jerry. That got me thinking about how many others are fresh faces and rising stars in this business. It got me thinking too, about how many of them could also use a leg up from time to time, by some of us that have been at this for a minute or two.
Emily George is one such Rising Star. Emily has a clear understanding of the power behind building partnerships, be those with brand clients, professional organizations, or vendor partnerships, that enable scalable solutions for those that she serves. At Franchise Business Review, Emily joins Michelle Rowan’s team, working with franchisors to measure and then use franchisee feedback, to make their organizations stronger and more successful.
Emily is multi-talented and what will be abundantly clear, after hearing from her today, is her passion for helping franchise systems. Emily wants to help brands grow the right way: by investing in people, creating a positive culture and measuring success so they can continue to grow better, faster. Who better to feature in this initial episode of Franchising’s Rising Stars, presented monthly, in memory of Jerry Darnell.

We are meeting with the CEO of Main Squeeze Juice Co., Thomas Nieto. Main Squeeze Juice Company, based out of New Orleans, LA, has been franchising its fast-casual juice and smoothie bar concept since 2017. Main Squeeze’s mission is to make healthy easier, and the company’s nutritionist-designed, the superfood-centric menu does exactly that by offering a daily source of plant-based nutrition packed with natural and quick energy.
We will discuss how Main Squeeze Juice Co. has been paired with Pro Bowl Punter Thomas Morstead since 2019, making the brand a pioneer for franchises partnering with professional athletes. Thomas Morstead decided to become a partner of the New Orleans-based juice and smoothie bar because nutrition is one of his top priorities, and he wanted to share the importance of a healthy diet with his fans. CEO Thomas Nieto believes partnering with Morstead has contributed to Main Squeeze Juice Co.'s brand growth and credibility.
Morstead has helped the brand continue to take over the health and wellness world, introducing the concept to new communities and helping those looking for a healthier and more convenient way of fulfilling their nutritional goals. In part two, we play a clip from our popular Great Quotes in Franchising podcast.

Cole Morgan - Repairing human connection in virtual and hybrid events. The move to virtual events was inevitable, but the speed at which the shift happened broke things.
Cole Morgan is Founder & CEO at StageConnect, a production-grade remote audience interaction software that lets presenters or performers on stage see, hear, and interact with their entire remote audience.
Covid broke the very paradigm of live events; people gathering in a place around a happening. Comfortable or not, event professionals had quite a learning curve when the pandemic hit. Virtual events and hybrid events already existed prior, but now they will continue as the standard. Cole and his company have created a meaningful way to bring remote participants to life, actually put them on stage, and allow them to interact with and truly connect with the presenters, speakers, and performers on the stage.
