  • KINGS IN THE MORNING (KITM) / TUESDAY

    in Radio

I want to start off by saying, I’m not a fan of Senator Warren, however two things.  The playing ground is very seldom fair to people, it’s a follow the rules, unless you’re us, we don’t have to.  It’s not okay for YOU to lie, but we will lie our asses off.  And in life you have to use every advantage you can.  Ms Warren is 69 or 70, a year older than I am, so she was around in the 60s as a child and if you are of that age, YOU KNOW if a person had ONE IOTA of a percentage of a race that was not white, you were what that race was.  Think back, for Black’s sake.  If you had a smidgen of Black blood, you were a ni**er.  I was there, I heard the talk and racist comments – and we all know the things that were said, why the Jewish hid, and those who passed for white, kept it to themselves.  So I don’t blame Senator Warren, and all of you bullsh*tters know I’m right, just like our show, KINGS IN THE MORNING – Right here, now!

  • Life Lessons and Healing with Horses - Helen Brennand, Equine Bodyworker

    in Moms and Family

We can learn so much from animals, when we allow our innate curiosity to educate us about ourself, others and the world. This is what Helen Brennand, an accomplished rider, trainer, equine bodyworker and animal communicator, who is based in England, experienced with her Spiritual Awakening.
Helen practices Yoga and Meditation, and combines these disciplines with horses and humans. As a holistic therapist, enhanced with her passion for horse welfare, respecting them as sentient beings, Helen is able to communicate on a deeper level and realized the true healing power of the horse. It was her beloved horses who nurtured her through a period of immense sorrow culminating in a beautiful and unexpected spiritual enlightenment.
Besides writing, Helen’s time is now dedicated to The Haven, a centre she founded as a home for animals. It is a peaceful environment where herd of horses provide healing for people to help them find balance and harmony in their lives. The Haven is also a holistic rehabilitation centre for horses and ponies recovering from illness, injury or trauma.

Join Helen Brennand and me on Tuesday, May 21, 10-11 A.M. CT US. Helen and I will be having a conversation about her amazing life’s journey, her passion for horses, and her book, BELIEF. It is a story of love, a collaboration of hearts, and her connection to a herd of horses.

  • Coach Celano - One Chapter Doesn’t Write The Whole Book - It Sets Up The Ending

    in Self Help

We always welcome Coach Chris Celano, Head Coach of The University of New Haven Baseball to our radio show!  Our Best Ever You Community agrees that any chance we have to obtain real life advice and thoughts from one of the best baseball coaches in the country, is a moment we are going take-in and pass along.  We have a moment to access wisdom from a person who sees and experiences many vantage points.
Coach Celano joins us to chat about how a chapter doesn't write the whole book, but rather sets up the ending.  We'll hear about how moments actually don't define us, but rather, shape our future.  Drawing from experiences from many years of coaching, including a season that included over 10 cancellations due to weather, 24 losses, one very muddy bus, all sandwiched around an energetic and a never-give-up winning-mindset team, which included a season ending WIN! ( and some very muddy uniforms!!)
This show translates to life:  Life is wins and losses. Ups and downs and not every moment is the best. From making adjustments to managing stress to figuring out what to do when something just isn't shaping up to your vision and goals, to not glazing over anything....  what exactly do you do?  We'll also chat about the importance of being well-rounded, student-athletes and coaches.
For more info about Coach Celano and the Chargers, please visit: https://newhavenchargers.com/index.aspx?path=baseball and please also check out his podcast with co-host Rob Thompson https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sports-biz-podcast/id1266053229, where fact checking is completely missing and laughs are abundant.

  • Channeling the Spirit of Henry David Thoreau with Cathryn McIntyre

    in Paranormal

Has today's guest, author Cathryn McIntyre made contact with the spirit of Henry David Thoreau?  If the story she tells in her memoir, The Thoreau Whisperer is true then perhaps so.  After an encounter with her mentor, an eminent Thoreau scholar, eleven days after his death, in The Thoreau Whisperer, McIntyre finds she must hone her psychic abilities, set her doubts aside and accept the role she was destined to play in a remarkable collaboration that allows the words of Henry David Thoreau to be heard once again in our time.
In addition to The Thoreau Whisperer (2018), McIntyre is the author of Honor in Concord: Seeking Spirit in Literary Concord (2008); and the founder of The Concord Writer, a literary and publishing concern dedicated to the words, wisdom and enduring spirit of Thoreau.  She has studied the literary history of Concord, Massachusetts for over 25 years; holds a B.A. in English literature from Michigan State University; and is a long-time member of The Thoreau Society.  She is also a natural psychic and clairvoyant, a UFO experiencer, and a sometime ghost investigator, whose blog about a ghostly occurrence in Maine led to an investigation by author Greg Latimer and her story being included in his book, Ghosts of the Boothbay Region.  She moved from Michigan to the Boston area in 1984 and has lived in or near Concord, Massachusetts since 1998.
